We Honeymooned in BEAUTIFUL Hawaii!

Hi All,

Thanks a ton for stopping by! I bet you are wondering where Ellie and I have been for the last two weeks. I meant to make a post explaining our absence a few weeks ago but life caught up with us so that went out the window. Nonetheless, Ellie and I spent the last week or so in Hawaii for our COVID-delayed honeymoon!

Long story short, we got married back in July of 2020 at the height of all of the COVID craziness, and that killed our plans of going to Cabo. After having to delay our honeymoon a year, plans ended up working themselves out for us to go to Hawaii instead which we weren’t too mad about!

We first flew out to LA and spent a day there meeting up with a bunch of our friends from college which was awesome! We then flew out to the big island of Hawaii for the next seven days, stopped back in LA on our way back, and were home before we even had a chance to miss it :(.

Despite getting badly sunburnt on the first full day that we spent in Hawaii, we did do quite a few fun things while we were there!

  • Went to the beach
  • Built a hut out of palm leaves
  • Went Snorkeling
  • Toured a Coffee Farm
  • Golfed on a coastal resort course
  • Bought spam musubi off of the beer cart
  • Went to a few farmers’ markets
  • Ate some of the local food
  • Relaxed!

Spending some time in Hawaii also sort of bit us with the travel bug a bit. We had already had it but started to think a little bit more about traveling to some remote places that this earth has to offer. On our way back home, we began doing some research on ways to save significant money on travel. We found quite a few things and may end up making a post on that soon!

For the time being, check out our post on how to afford van life. The advice applies to other forms of traveling too!

Anyway, we greatly appreciate your patience with our lack of posting lately and can assure you that we will begin posting once a week again very shortly! We quite enjoyed our break from work and responsibilities but I did find myself itching to get back into this blog and our Etsy shop! Since we’ve returned from Hawaii I have added a few more items to our shop including a hat and backpack that I think you guys might really love! Check that out here.

Thanks again for all of your support through this journey of ours! Remain on the lookout for posts every Sunday!
