WE ARE SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE! Welcome to our little, life-giving (at least for us), authentic, and dream-driven blog! We can not wait to share our journey with you and to hopefully be able to pour into your life in more ways than one!!
First things first…
WHO ARE WE?!
So glad you asked! Tyler and Ellie, here! We are THE GREENE’S!! Just married at the end of July 2020! We are a young, God-fearing couple who desires to chase their wildest dreams, build community, see the world, create and capture memories, and love each other better every day. Who’s with us!?
We’d like to give you just a little background about us before jumping ahead but most of our story will be told in a later post!
Tyler and I met during the New Student Orientation of our freshman year in college at Hope International University (Hope is HOME!). When we first met, let me tell you it was NOT love at first sight. We developed a love for each other over late-night talks, inside jokes, and genuine care and attention. I’ll write more about this later but I’ll be the first one to tell you, LOVE doesn’t come easily – it takes work, time, effort, falling and getting back up, and choosing that person day in and day out. It’s worth it but true love doesn’t fall into your lap as most people tell you!
Anyways! We’ve been together ever since – it hasn’t been easy but it’s been so worth it! We are opposites in most ways but come together where it counts – we both love the Lord and believe in the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross so we can spend eternity with Him in heaven! Don’t worry, it’s okay if you don’t feel the same way, we desire community with everyone! Let me just say that again, we love and accept YOU here, no matter your race, religion, weight, height, or anything else!
Now that you know just a little bit about who we are together, we want to let you in even more if you’d like to stick around and listen! Here’s a little more about each of us, apart from the other because that is still important in a relationship!
ELLIE
I am the one writing this blog post and will be in charge of most of the writing for this blog down the road. Tyler is using his creative brain to pursue some other goals so here, you’ll be talking with me!
Anywho – I am a 23-year-old college graduate from Twin Lakes, WI! I love to dance, soak in the warm sunshine, decorate, eat chips and guac, and get real! One of my passions, which I’m sure I’ll write more about later is authenticity and vulnerability – I desire for genuine connection where walls are broken down and the real you is showing up! Love me some of that!!
I have three stinky brothers who I love dearly and who relentlessly beat me in sports, two parents who gave me the best life growing up, and now I have a husband, A SISTER, and two more brothers!! WOOO! I am loving this chapter of life with more family, a husband to love on, and a new life to build! So much potential with this new season and I am just eating it up!
A little more about me: I love to laugh and smile but sometimes it’s hard for me to do so. I struggle with what some people call a Rollercoaster of Emotions basically all the time. Sometimes it’s awesome! Like when I’m livin’ well and happy but sometimes it’s hard on me and the people around me. I also struggle with this thing called anxiety. You’ll hear me talk more about that too at some point. It’s a really sucky and crippling struggle that impacts almost every day in some way!
Despite the hardship our struggles may bring, we can fight back! God made us strong and able to fight against the struggles of this world. We are capable human beings! I also believe that everybody has something – something they don’t like and that they would rather not share but Tyler and I both vow to be open, honest, and real about the struggles we encounter in life so that we all know that we are not alone and can work through them together!
Now on to my favorite person in the whole world!!!!!
TYLER
I get to introduce you to Tyler this time but you’ll get to learn more from his point of view later!
Tyler is the most kind-hearted and gentle man you might ever meet – if you ever get to meet him! Lucky you, if you do! He loves his friends and family so much that the choices surrounding our future are greatly guided by our distance from our family – he desires friendship and connection throughout all the stages of life.
Tyler is a creative mastermind! Let me tell you! He is always dreaming about new things to create and new ways to capture the world through his camera. He has a bucket list of locations all over the world to get his dream shots. This guy works harder than anyone I know to make sure he is doing a good job and preparing for our beautiful future.
But possibly my absolute favorite thing about this man is the way he finds the good in this world. His mind centers itself around optimism and “what ifs” in the best way! He chases his dreams hard without looking back! He can always find the positive in any situation and relentlessly picks me up when my mind goes down the gutter. Tyler is a go-getter and attacks life with a zest I admire with my whole heart!!
Just a few more things about this wonderful man: he loves GREEN! Not only because that’s his last name but he feels most at home in nature. He loves mountains, freshwater lakes, fishing, hiking, camping, and the simplicity of life in God’s creation. In Tyler’s free time, you could find him at the nearest pond trying to catch himself a big one! This man is the epitome of well-rounded! Wow, I had more to say about Tyler than I do about myself – huh!
Let me just say this one more time: WE ARE SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE. We are honored to have your two little pupils letting the light in from this internet page. We are honored to have you reading our thoughts and experiences. I hope you know how loved you are not only by your friends and family but by us and by our Creator – you are never ever alone.
